This is a rare January 1970 preview playbill (includes two cut songs) from the Original Broadway production of the LARRY GROSSMAN and HAL HACKADY musical comedy flop "MINNIE'S BOYS" which played the Imperial Theatre in New York City. (The show would open March 26th, 1970 and close after only 80 performances.) ..... Based on the lives of the Marx Brothers, the production starred SHELLEY WINTERS as their Mother, "Minnie Marx" and featured LEWIS J. STADLEN as "Groucho" Marx, IRWIN PEARL as "Chico" Marx, DANIEL FORTUS as "Harpo" Marx, ALVIN KUPPERMAN as "Zeppo" Marx and GARY RAUCHER as "Gummo" Marx. Others in the cast included ARNY FREEMAN, MORT MARSHALL, JULIE KURNITZ, RICHARD B. SHULL, MERWIN GOLDSMITH, DAVID VAUGHAN, DEEDE DARNELL, MARCELO GAMBOA, CASPER ROOS, GENE ROSS, JEAN BRUNO and ROLAND WINTERS ..... DETAILS: The 54 page playbill measures 6 X 9 inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers and bios of each of the leading actors and members of the creative team, but no cast photos. Includes a full page ad for the Original Broadway Cast recording of "MINNIE'S BOYS" (available soon) on RCA Victor Records. (The LP would eventually be released, but on the Project 3 label.) ..... CUT SONGS: The list of musical numbers includes "Empty" and "I'll Say She Is" which were cut during previews ..... BONUS: Includes a copy of the humorous insert from GROUCHO MARX which was placed inside the playbill. It reads in part, "A LETTER FROM GROUCHO" - "Welcome to Philadelphia! Imagine tonight you are Philadelphians seeing our show in its try-out period. If it has a few rough spots, we feel you'll be willing to overlook them out of gratitude for not having to live in Philadelphia." (Signed) Groucho (not actual signature) "P.S.
